Blooms that are extraordinarily unique, with thin, deep green leaves, up to 12cm x 4cm, with gently fluted margins.
Blooms: Glossy lantern-like flowers in ivory , measuring 20mm across, with a yellow-centred ivory corona. 'Mappigera' literally means 'carried cloth', a perfect descriptor of the bloom's campanulate corolla structure which looks like a napkin attached to a stem! Flowers singularly or in pairs. No fragrance. Flowers last for 1-2 days.
Sun exposure: Requires bright and warm growing conditions. Flowers better under higher sunshine levels.
Water requirement: Enjoys high humidity. Do not allow potting medium to totally dry out between waterings. Prefers well-draining, open mix.
Maintenance: Low. Half strength doses of fertilise in growing period.
Special note: Very rare hoya. Flowers open only at night. Intermediate hoya: best suited to temperatures between 15-35C.
Each living plant is unique and may vary in size, colour, or shape depending on the season. Flowering plants are sent when available. Plants are sent bare-rooted.
