Unique and outstanding species! Slender epiphytic vine which grows two types of leaves: A. Circular, succulent leaf blades measuring 2cm in diameter and B. hollow, pod-shaped leaves measuring up to 10cm x 3cm. These pods are often filled with organic debris and act as an ant hotel!
Cascading foliage which can grow up to several meters in length – stunning in a hanging basket.
Blooms: Tiny, urn-shaped, pale yellow-orange flowers produced in umbels of 1-5 blooms.
Sun exposure: Medium to bright indirect light.
Water requirement: Thrives on high levels of humidity. Mist foliage daily. Allow soil to dry out before watering. When potting medium is dry, submerge in container of water until air bubbles dissipate. Will not tolerate roots being overly damp.
Maintenance: Low. Repot annually. Half strength doses of liquid fertiliser in growing period.
Special note: Known as Malaysian Urn Vine, ‘Rattle Skulls’ or ‘Ant Plant’. WAOL permitted. Protected species propagated under authorization. Close relative of hoya. Roots on this species are often very fine. Order limits apply.
