Firm, narrow leaves, folded like tacos, growing compactly up to 4cm x 1.5cm, with a deep crease down the centre and very dark leaf margins when mature. New growth throws richly red in bright light.
Petite and graceful vining habit!
Blooms: Clusters of strongly reflexed flowers in dark red colour, measuring 5mm, with red and yellow corona. Up to 15 flowers per umbel. Small amounts of nectar. Sweet caramel fragrance. Flowers last up to 5 days.
Sun exposure: Enjoys plenty of bright indirect light.
Water requirement: Prefers well-draining mix. Allow to dry out considerably between waterings. Water less in winter.
Maintenance: Low. Fertilise in growing period.
Special note: An as yet unidentified species. Often referred to as 'H. wayetii mini.' Warm hoya: best suited to temperatures between 21-35C.
