Dischidia ovata D21

Sensational foliage which closely resembles watermelons. Ovate leaves turn reddish colour in high levels of sunlight.

Elegant form – well suited to a hanging basket or as a mounted plant.

Blooms: Dainty, bell-shaped yellow-green flowers with purplish markings which grow especially during warmer months.
Sun exposure: Best in bright indirect light to showcase foliage.
Water requirement: Thrives on high levels of humidity. Mist foliage daily. Allow soil to almost dry out before watering. Submerge in container of water until air bubbles dissipate or gently hose. Will not tolerate roots being overly damp.
Maintenance: Low. Repot annually. Half strength doses of liquid fertiliser at the beginning of Spring and Summer.
Special note: Close relative of hoya. Known as the ‘watermelon’ dischidia. WAOL permitted. Order limits apply.

Each living plant is unique and may vary in size, colour, or shape depending on the season. Flowering plants are sent when available. Plants are sent bare-rooted.
